After a sweltering day where temperatures danced at the century mark, a large section of mostly student housing has regained power.
An area of housing roughly surrounded by South University, State St., Washtenaw Ave. and Granger Ave. was without power earlier Saturday evening, and the area included several late-night businesses, including bars and restaurants.
According to a DTE Energy Outage map, several other neighborhoods throughout the city have also been without power. Between the outage south of South University, two large outages south of E. Stadium Blvd. and many sporadic outages throughout the city, several thousands of residencies have lost power throughout the day, per the map.
This is a developing story. Check back to www.michigandaily.com for updates.
